Amenity Website = The Calf of Man is an island which is a nature reserve and is situated on the south-west coast of the Isle of Man. The Calf has been an official British bird observatory since 1962, Wardens live here and keep detailed records from March to November.
In the winter the calf can be desolate but in the spring or summer it is often quite idyllic, with a carpeting of wild flowers.
The waters around the Sound and Calf of Man are full of wildlife. The small rocky islet, known as Kitterland, is a hotspot for seals which can be found sunbathing on the rocks. The area is also frequented by dolphins and basking sharks.

It is possible to reach the Calf by boat from Port Erin and Port St Mary . Seasonal trips depends on visitor numbers, weather and tides. Look at the Calf Information panels at the harbours.
